When an existing service must be upgraded due to new health, fire, safety, and/or plumbing regulations, an application shall be filed pursuant to section 25.64. Said application shall be considered as applying for a new service.
All fire sprinkler systems which do not have a separate meter shall be upgraded by installing a meter in accordance with the following schedule:
Systems with less than 500 fire sprinkler heads: By July 1, 2000
Systems with 500 sprinkler heads or more: By July 1, 1998
Notwithstanding the above, meters shall be installed for any fire sprinkler system as a condition of issuing a new occupancy permit after a change of an owner, tenant, or occupant.
